Firstly, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Secondly, resolutions are a contentious subject for many, because usually they don’t work, and therefore often fall victim to repeating next year. However, setting myself up for success makes it more likely for me to keep your resolutions, therefore I haven’t written work out two times a week, but keep it more flowing, so walking and swimming whenever it’s possible.
So why have I chosen the resolutions above? Well, health, nurture, knowledge and fear-conquering are the focus points of my resolutions.
Fear: Starting my blog – it’s brave to do something you are scared of – and for me this is very difficult to expose myself this way, however, it is something I have wanted to for years, so now I’m taking the plunge.
Health: A sun-filled holiday, keeping physically active and balancing compartments of my life will offer much health, mental and physical. I know many of you are more aware of mental health than previous generations, so therefore, you can occasionally get overwhelmed by all these emotions, particularly, when you are not only unlearning things from your childhood, but also from older generations in your family. Staying positive, being supportive and accepting myself helps as well as external factors. Therefore, I am kind to myself, forgiving, and treat myself whenever I can, whether it’s zone therapy, a designer bag or a nice meal.
Nurture: Be more in nature and with family and friends. They offer me peace, advice and fun-filled times, and offer me balance in life when I do too much of one thing such as work. I am surrounded by access to wonderful nature in Denmark and with incredibly sympathetic people in my life, therefore it’s only natural that I want to spend more time with them.
Knowledge: Learning something new – pursuing knowledge – exposing myself to something new, and for me, it’s museums. I enjoy art. I enjoy learning about new artists, and I am fortunate enough to live in a country where art means something and is supported, even by the Queen of Denmark. Therefore, my list for this year contains the following museums: Glyptoteket, National Museum of Denmark, Cisterne, Designmuseum, The David Collection, Thorvaldsen’s Museum, The Hirschsprung Collection, Medical Museion, Kunstforening Gl. Strand, Nikolaj Kunsthal, Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Frederiksborg Castle, Moesgaard Museum and Ordrupgaard.
